برعاية وزارة التربية والتعليم قطاع التدريب والتأهيل والمجلس الثقافي البريطاني وبتمويل مشروع تطوير التعليم الأساسي اختتمت اليوم الخميس الموافق 20/12/2012 فعاليات 24 ورشة عمل في طرق تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية لمعلمي اللغة الإنجليزية في 5 محافظات من محافظات الجمهورية اليمنية كمرحلة ثالثة وهي:( إب, الحديدة, حضرموت, عدن , تعز).

  تم تدشين الدورة التدريبية يوم السبت الموافق 8/12/2012م واختتمت يوم الخميس الموافق 20/12/2012م ولمدة أثنا عشر يوما بواقع ورشتين تدريبيتين يوميا من الساعة الثامنة وحتى الواحدة ظهرا , بحيث تمحورت  وتركزت الدورة التدريبية على مدى اثني عشر يوما على أساسيات طرق تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية  المستنبطة من أصول مادة (تى.كي .تى ): الجزء الأول ومعظم الجزء الثاني والتي لاقت ارتياحا واسعا من كافة المتدربين من المعلمين والمعلمات لاسيما وأنها وثيقة الصلة تماما بالمنهج المدرسي بحيث يمكن تطبيق كافة الأنشطة والمواضيع التي تم التدرب عليها مع التلاميذ في الفصل الدراسي بفعالية.

 وخلال تنفيذ الدورة التدريبية تدرب المستهدفين من معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية على كيفية استخدام المهارات الجديدة والمعلومات والأفكار والمفاهيم  والأنشطة,والخبرات في تدريس اللغة الانجليزية بشكل ( فردي, زوجي , مجموعات, نقاش مجموعات,نقاش جماعي) بشكل فعال ومثمر والذي بالفعل سينعكس إيجابا بشكل عملي على التلاميذ في المدارس ضمن المحافظات المستهدفة حاليا في الجمهورية اليمنية.

 رافق هذه الدورة نزول ميداني من قبل مشرفين من وزارة التربية والتعليم ومكاتب التدريب والتأهيل بالمحافظات المستهدفة لتقييم سير العملية التدريبية هذا من جهة , ومن جهة أخرى تم النزول الميداني لعدد خمسة من مشرفي اللغة الإنجليزية من قبل المجلس الثقافي البريطاني بواقع مشرف في كل محافظة مستهدفة للإشراف والمتابعة على أداء المدربين بوجه خاص وذلك عن طريق إعطاء التغذية الراجعة الهادفة والبناءة لهم بما يكفل تعزيز الجوانب الإيجابية, وتقديم الملاحظات والنصائح والاقتراحات أثناء التدريب لتلافي القصور أثناء التدريب , فضلا عن متابعة المتدربين وعملية التدريب بوجه عام, وفي نهاية البرنامج التدريبي تم تسليم الشهادات التقديرية لمعلمي اللغة الإنجليزية لحضورهم ومشاركتهم الفاعلة في إنجاح هذه الدورة التدريبية وكذلك المدربين الذين قاموا بتنفيذ الدورة التدريبية في المحافظات المستهدفة.

من جهة أخرى سيتم تنفيذ المرحلة الرابعة من البرنامج التدريبي لتدريب معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية في أواخر هذا الشهر تقريبا  وحتى منتصف شهر يناير 2013في خمس محافظات أخرى وهي ( لحج, المحويت, حجه , ذمار, الأمانة)الواحد ولمدة اثنا عشر يوما .

وفي الأخير كلمة شكر وعرفان للقائمين على هذا البرنامج لاسيما وزارة التربية ومشروع تطوير التعليم الأساسي ممثلا بوزير التربية والتعليم د/ عبد الرزاق الأشول, ووكيل قطاع التدريب والتأهيل د/ عبدا لله لملس, ووكيل الوزارة لقطاع التوجيه أ/علي الحيمي , ومدير عام التدريب والتأهيل أ/ محمد النجاشي, والمجلس الثقافي البريطاني ممثلا بالسيد فتوي يوسف مدير المجلس البريطاني بالكويت وأ/ نواف شمسان مدير عام المجلس الثقافي البريطاني بالجمهورية اليمنية, ومديرة مشاريع اللغة الانجليزية رجاء بازرعة ومساعدة المشروع هدى سليم ومنسق المجلس البريطاني والوزارة المدرب/ نجيب المقرمي. وكبار المدربين من الوزارة والمجلس وهم عارف الصلوي , وعبد الجبار الشعبي , والمشرفين على عملية الإشراف من كبار المدربين وهم : أكرم مثنى حيدر و عبد الرحمن خزام(إب), , حسن بغوي(الحديدة) , منال العريقي و موسى عبدالله سعيد (تعز), عبد السلام عبد القوي( عدن) , طارق باسيف( حضرموت). 

British Council & Ministry of Education, Conducted " Trainer Development Course" Stage, 3  for Teachers of English Nationwide In Five Governorates.

 IBB. The British Council in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, financed by the basic Educational Development Program(BEDP), conducted "Trainer Development Course" Program , stage 3 for Teachers of English in five governorates: Ibb, Houdiedah, Aden, Hadhramout, and Taiz. The teachers of English would receive 24 T.K.T essentials workshops, Module 1 and most of Module 2 for two weeks.

In this regard , the" Trainer Development Course(T.D.C) program lasted for twelve days was inaugurated on 8 November and concluded on 20 November. What's more, it dealt with "lexis, Grammar, Phonology, Functions, Reading, Writing, listening, Speaking, Motivation, focus on form, L1 and L2, Learner characteristics, Learner needs, Presentation techniques, Practice activities, Assessment types, Aims, Lesson plan components, Individual lessons, Assessment activities, Consulting reference resources, Course book materials, Supplementary Materials and teaching aids". In other words, those workshops actually shed light on the importance of the communicative approach used collaboratively among the students in the classrooms since it involved all of them in pairs, groups and group discussions as well as the whole class ensuring better engagement and  more communicative practice effectively.

The trainers in particular and the trainees in general in the fifth governorates were followed by such constructive feedbacks by five supervisors sent by the British Council to evaluate and  supervise their performance in particular and the trainees in generals. In other words, those supervisors praised and appreciated the positive points,  delivered by both the trainers and the trainees highlighting ,to the contrary ,the  aspects which needed to be developed and promoted in order to achieve the objectives clearly and successfully.

Prior to ending up the program, the program ended up by handing over certificates for both the trainers and the trainees of English.

From one hand ,great efforts were exerted for the program to be delivered successfully and effectively by the Minister of Education, Dr. Abdulrazaq Alashwal, the Deputy Minister of Training and Qualifying Sector, Mr. Abdullah lamlas, the Training and Qualifying Department chairman, Dr. Mohammed Alnajashi, the Deputy Minister of Curriculum, examinations, and Inspecting Mr. Ali Alhaimi. On the other hand, some individuals involved in the participation for achieving this program profitably including Mr. Fetwi yusief, the British Council Manager In Kuwait, the  General Manager of The British Council in Sana'a Mr. Nawaf Shamsan, Project Manager, English Project Manager Raja Bazara, The coordinator of the MOE and the B.C Mr. Najeeb Almaqrami and Project assistant Huda Saleem, Mr. Abduljabbar Alshu'bi, Aref Alselwi, the supervisors: Acram Mothana Haider, Abdulrahman Khuzam, Manal Arki, Hassan Bajawi, Abdulsalam Abdulkawi and Tariq basaif.

In fact, many got impressioned concerning the training English program; Lutf Abu Mahyoob, Reef Ibb district said," really, I get much benefits from this sessions as they enriched my information and knowledge in relation to teaching English language within classroom effectively". Abdullah Murshed viewed that " though, the circumstances in Alsadah's distict are too difficult to sustain staying there, we received so cooperation and efforts exerted by the trainees to make this workshops a success, indeed, I am really satisfied wishing to have delivered many sessions in the upcoming future owing to the experience I have certainly obtained while training". Najeeb Albana, AlDhahar's district revealed his happiness saying" those intensive workshops are so relevant that we could actually apply them in the classroom trying to escape off that traditional ways with respect to teaching approaches which we used to do with them like traditional approach-teacher-centered approach-, but now the situation is changed, I am going to reflect the new methods delivered recently by our trainers to be taught efficiently in the field of teaching". Fisal AlGumaee expressed his enjoyment while receiving such fruitful workshops" they are awesome and terrific ones since they shed light on whatever we face while teaching, I have many difficulties when I want to prepare some lessons but when I have attended those intensive sessions, I am able to overcome them by applying whatever has been trained on in the field of teaching, and I hope to get more workshops in the future, thank you British council".

برعاية وزارة التربية والتعليم قطاع التدريب والتأهيل وتمويل مشروع تطوير التعليم الأساسي والمجلس الثقافي البريطاني اختتمت اليوم فعاليات الورش التدريبية لمعلمي اللغة الإنجليزية في محافظة تعز و عدد من محافظات الجمهورية . حيث عقد الدورات التدريبية في 44 مركزاً تدريباُ و قام 88 مدرباُ بتدريب معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية على الدورة التدريبية ( تطوير مهارات معلمي اللغة الإنجليزية – للتعليم الأساسي من 7-9 ) .  حيث بلغ عدد المعلمين الذين تم استهدافهم في هذه المرحلة في محافظة تعز 552 معلماً و معلمة .

تم تدشين الدورة يوم السبت الموافق 8/12/2012م واختتمت في يوم الخميس الموافق 20/12/2012م , تركزت الدورة على أصول تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية (تى.كي .تى ) بما فيها المهارات الأساسية مثل فقه اللغة مفردات اللفة القراءة, الاستماع, التحدث الكتابة, وظائف اللغة , النحو والصرف.

 خلال تنفيذ الدورة التدريبية تدرب الـ 552 معلماً على كيفية استخدام المهارات الجديدة والمعلومات والأفكار والمفاهيم والخبرات في تدريس اللغة الانجليزية بشكل جماعي فعال ومثمر الذي سينعكس إيجابا على طلاب و طالبات المدارس في عموم المحافظة .

  وفي نهاية البرنامج التدريبي تم تسليم الشهادات التكريمية للمعلمين كلً في مركزة التدريبي لمشاركتهم الفاعلة في هذه الدورة.

In conjunction with Ministry of education , training and qualifying sector  and the British Council  ,and funded by the BEDP , training courses concluded the training courses for English language teachers in Taiz and many of the governorates in Yemen . In Taiz the training was cascaded in 44 training centers by 88 trainers of the British council and the Ministry of Education who cascaded training in TKT essentials for English language teachers from 7-9^th basic . The total number of teachers who had the training is a round 552 teachers .

The training started on Saturday 8-12-2012 and concluded on Thursday 20-12-2012 .The training course focused on TKT essentials like lexis , reading , writing , grammar …etc.

During the training the 552 teachers were trained how to use the new skills and information in teaching English language in collaborative way which will be reflected positively on our students in schools all over Yemen .

At the end of the training , participation certificates were awarded to trainees in their training centers for their effective participation .

At the end we offer our deepest thanks for those who are responsible on this program , including Minister of Education Dr. Abdul Razaq Al-Ashwal , Training and Qualifying deputy Minister , and deputy minister of Curriculum and evaluation  and general director of training in the ministry of education .And the British council staff in Yemen  ( Mr. Nawaf Shamsan , Miss Raga'a Bazara'a , Miss Huda Saleem , Mr. Najeeb Al-Maqrami for his great work in coordination which consumes all his time ,  and the rest of the staff ) and Mr. Fetwi director the British Council in Kuwait , all for their great work and help for the Yemeni teachers and trainers all over Yemen .

TKT Essentials

First day report

      I am very glade to attend this useful training course for teachers, at the same time I am very thankful for The British Council and The Ministry of Education who organized this course.

Around 25 teachers attend the training which is taken place in Alkwait School in Taiz.

      I would like to write this report about training session which took place on Sunday       9^th ,December 2012.The trainer was Mr. Abdul Hakim .

 First of all the topics discussed today were Grammar and Lexis.

The first session was about Grammar, and the learning outcomes were to :

      1- explain key concepts used to describe parts of speech and grammatical structure.

2- discuss some  pedagogical issue in teaching grammar.

The trainer presented the parts of speech through discussion and grammar quiz. Then goes through nouns and pronouns using a story and uncompleted chart. After that he presented some grammatical structure through discussion in pairs and groups. Finally the trainees discussed in groups some grammatical issues ,if they agree or disagree with them, with their purposes.

               The second session was about Lexis , and the learning outcomes were to:

1- explain key concepts used in describing aspects of vocabulary.

2-account for some of the factors which lead to vocabulary errors by learners.

 In this session the trainer was dealing with different kinds of meanings of one word , and aspects of vocabulary. In a work sheet ,the trainer presented errors that learners might have made. Another work sheet was about re-arranging words to  put things where they should be.

Relevant : The topics discussed were relevant to our own experience and our practical teaching in the classroom.

Level of participation : Participants were allowed to discuss in pairs and groups using work sheets. The trainees were practical.

The venue of training :The environment is quiet ,clean and wide.

Materials :The materials were sufficient , clear, help to present the topic, providing input to be discussed, and cover the exercises during the training day.

Trainer performance :patient, listen to the trainees ,allow them to participate ,let participants to share experience through groups.

Disadvantages:  - lose time in some activities which didn’t need longer time.

                            - chairs are not comfortable.

Benefits :  - how to deal with learner errors and why the learners might have made them.

 Finally I could say that the sessions were useful for many teachers and providing many ideas.

Some of my colleagues express satisfaction in this training session but for me as an experienced teacher I think teachers need more information and activities for each topic.

Recommendation :  

 - enrich the topic with more practical activities related to the teachers' daily practice in the classroom.

-participants need more input in the work sheet because they cannot memorize every thing in their brain.

Report 2 by trainees: 
 

The  Daily Report.

On Monday, 10^th December, in Al-Kuwait School, more than 20 teachers from across Salah District, attended a session in teaching English ( TKT Essential ). These sessions are held in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the British Council.

As usual session began at 8:15, but today we were disturbed by a visitor from inspector from Sana'a, the Ministry of Education who came to check attendance of the participants. Our dear guest volunteered to lecture the attendants giving them idea and advice for the future.

Surly he had a greet amount of information but he wanted the whole time of our session explaining and repeating the same points until some of us got bored.

Then at last our guest left the hall giving us the chance to begin what we came for i.e. our session.

We had two topics phonology and function . The first topic was achieved by the trainer Faisal Hazmi who began by warming the atmosphere , giving a joke . Then he identified the outcomes of the sessions. After that we discussed the main aspects of phonology ,eg. Sounds, intonations and word stress.

After the break , we hold the second session entitled with functions. This topic was achieved by trainer  Abdul-Hakeem. We discussed the aims and functions of the language , the different aspects of functions.

I think it is a great opportunity to attend such sessions to refresh our memories and exchange and ideas.

Finally , I would like to thank our capable trainers Hakim and Faisal.
